About the Role
We’re growing fast and are looking for a Data Center Operations Team Lead to oversee operations across our West Coast data centers. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on leadership, operational excellence, and hands-on tech work.
In this role, you’ll lead a team responsible for assembling, delivering, and maintaining infrastructure for both internal and external customers, including hardware, software, and connectivity. You’ll also manage inventory and ensure data center processes run smoothly and efficiently. You may be on-call as needed and will report to the Data Center Operations Manager based out of Virginia.
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead, develop, and manage the performance of the West Coast Data Center Operations Team: Mentor, coach, and train your team to enhance performance and career growth. Support hiring, performance evaluations, and development efforts alongside the DC Operations Manager. 
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across hardware, software, and connectivity services. Ensure tickets and operational tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. 
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on team metrics, projects, and key initiatives. 
  • Cross Department Collaboration: Foster strong communication and cooperation across departments. 
  • Process Improvement: Drive innovation and implement best practices to enhance efficiency. 
  • Project Leadership: Lead and participate in major initiatives such as data center migrations. 
  • Oversee inventory and asset management of servers and components
  • Deliver a high level of service to internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Drive process improvements and help scale operations as the business grows
  • Work on-site at one of our West Coast locations: LA, SFO, Seattle, Phoenix, or Dallas (Monday to Friday)

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong technical background and familiarity with data center operations and basic network knowledge
  • Proven experience in team leadership or management
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Passion for efficiency, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work on-site in one of our West Coast data centers
  • 1+ years of leadership experience, including performance management. 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Must be able to obtain a passport within 6 months of employment.  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • Willingness to complete the Leaseweb Certified Engineer (LCE) certification within 12 months (training provided)
